Physical Copies of Fortnite are Selling for Big Bucks

Fortnite is huge right now and fans of the game know that it is free-to-play. That doesn’t mean you can’t spend big money in-game with purchases of cosmetic items among other things. What it does mean is that the game itself is a free download.

For a while, Epic Games was offering physical versions of Fortnite for the Xbox and PS4 game consoles for folks who didnt want to download the software. It turns out that lots of people want those physical versions and they are selling for big bucks online.

GameSpot reports that physical copies of Fortnite for the Xbox One and PS4 are selling for up to $450 online. Most prices for the physical box versions of the game are selling in the $100-200 range and people are buying at those prices. There are old listings to prove the purchases.

Epic is no longer making physical versions of the game making them collectible. The digital download only title has free battle royale access with paid access to play Save the World mode. If you happen to have an unopened boxed version of the game now is the time to cash in.
